Languages, Translators, Project Managers, Clients, Administrators, Freelancers, Beebox, Leads - WM-9324

NEW [Suppliers] Sending email messages to suppliers

It was already possible to send email messages to a supplier group:

Suppliers > Supplier groups > [Select a group] > Group members > Envelope icon

Now, you can also send email messages to selected suppliers from the Suppliers page:

Suppliers > [Select check boxes] > Email

Supplier Management, Project Managers, Administrators - WM-9564

IMPROVED [Machine translation] New language and locales supported by TextShuttle

Polish – pl – has been added for TextShuttle machine translation.

The following English locales have also been added:
• English (United Kingdom) – en-GB
• English (United States) – en-US

MT, Project Managers, Clients - WM-9762

FIX [Custom fields] Double quotation marks possible in multiple-choice lists

When you create a custom field that is a multiple-choice list, you can now include double quotation marks in items on the list, without the text after the quotation marks being deleted in the saved list.

Location: Settings > Customization > General Settings > Custom fields > Add > Type of field > Pick list, multiple choice

Custom Fields, Project Managers, Clients, Administrators - WM-7293

FIX [Business analytics] Reliability and reactivity figures are more accurate

The calculation of supplier reliability (number of jobs delivered on time) and reactivity (number of jobs accepted within 8 hours of assignment) is now more accurate. The calculations now include jobs that were assigned and started at the same time, and jobs for which only one action was taken.

Location: (Hover over) My company > Business Analytics > Analytics > Select report > (example) ‘Suppliers – Translation Volume’ > Advanced > Category > Reliability / Reactivity

Business Analytics, Translators, Project Managers, Administrators, Freelancers - WM-9048

FIX [Quotes and invoices] Clarified error message

If a quote or invoice template that was created by an Administrator in Microsoft Excel contains an error on a spreadsheet, an error message might be displayed when you try to export a quote or invoice. That message now explains the reason for the error and offers a solution.

Relevant locations:
(1) (Hover over) My company > Invoices - Clients/Suppliers > [Select a quote or invoice] > Export Excel
(2) Settings > Customization > Invoicing > Invoice Print Layout > Configure > Template library > Edit

Costing, Project Managers, Clients - WM-9572

FIX [File filters] Auto-detection of character encoding

The filters that are used to extract text from plain text files, PO/POT files, SVG files, and subtitle files could already automatically detect character encoding in the files. Now, if a file contains mostly ASCII encoding and only very little of another encoding—for example, Shift-JIS encoding of Japanese characters—that other encoding is correctly detected.

Settings > Customization > Translation Settings > Document Formats > (example) Plain text > [Select a configuration] > General > Encoding > Auto-detect

(Note: If you already know the encoding in a file, select that encoding rather than ‘Auto-detect’ in the filter.)

File Formats, Translators, Project Managers - WM-7165

FIX [Editor] Finalizing plain text files

When the source file is a plain text file, the translated file is now correctly finalized, even when the plain text filter that was used to extract the text from the source file contained multiple text extraction rules with different regex patterns.

Relevant locations:
(1) Settings > Customization > Translation Settings > Document Formats > Plain text > [Select a configuration] > General > Text extraction rules
(2) Editor > Document > Submit as Deliverable > Create File > Finalize

File Formats, Project Managers - WM-9316

FIX [Editor] Correct spacing when re-joining split segments

When you split a source segment into two segments and then join the segments together again, the translated segment now correctly contains a space between sentences at the point where the split had been made.

Location: Editor > Source column > Edit > Split segment icon > Split at cursor / Join with next segment

Editor, Translators, Project Managers, Administrators, Freelancers - WM-9172

FIX [Jobs] Client-workers’ names displayed in job proposals

Already, client companies could have employees who are classed as both clients and workers. (They are workers, for example, when they review or proofread translations.) You could add those employees to a supplier group and propose jobs to the group. When you displayed the list of suppliers that the job was open to, the client company names were displayed but not the client-workers’ names. Now, both are displayed.

Relevant locations:
(1) Suppliers > Supplier groups > [Select a group] > Add suppliers > Clients > [Select a ‘client & worker’] > Add to group
(2) Jobs > [Select a job] > Job details > Choose supplier > Propose to supplier groups > [Select group containing ‘client & worker’] > Job details > Job opening

Client Management, Job Management, Project Managers - WM-9822

IMPROVED [Translation finder] More results

The translation finder now returns more results in cases where it detects repeated segments in a resource. Previously, repetitions were removed from results but were not then replaced by further results. Now, any removed repetitions cause further results to be returned.

Term extraction, Translators, Project Managers - WM-10074

NEW [Machine translation] Brazilian Portuguese supported by Intento

Brazilian Portuguese (pt-BR) has been added for Intento machine translation, which now supports pt, pt-PT, and pt-BR.

Intento, MT, Project Managers - WM-9929

Settings > Customization > Quality Assurance > QA Profiles > Configure > Select > Translations – Same for different source

Editor, QA, Translators, Project Managers - WM-9282

NEW [Clients, Suppliers, People] View dates that companies and people are created in the system

If you create a new company or person in the system, the creation date is displayed on the company page or on the person’s ‘Account details’ page, respectively. Also, the lists of companies and people can be searched by creation date. Optionally, you can add the dates in a column in the Excel file that is generated when you click ‘Print.’ (Restriction: No creation dates are shown for people or companies that were created in the system before this release.)

Client Management, Supplier Management, Project Managers - WM-9122

IMPROVED [Price lists] Badge highlights availability of multiple price lists

On price-list pages, a new badge that contains text (for example, 'List 1 of 10') indicates the number of price lists that the drop-down menu gives access to.

Locations: (1) My company > Prices. (2) Suppliers > Pricelist. (3) Clients > Select > Prices > Details

Price Management, Translators, Project Managers - WM-9559

FIX [Jobs] Searching for jobs in a particular language

When you search a list of jobs for those that have a particular source or target language, only the jobs with the searched language are displayed. Previously, if two languages had codes that began with the same two letters (for example, the codes “fil” for “Filipino” and “fi” for “Finnish”), jobs in both languages might be incorrectly displayed.

Jobs > Search > [Type a source or target language] > Search

Job Management, Project Managers - WM-9365

FIX [Editor] Clients can correctly accept review jobs

When clients of a language-service provider take on proofreading or other review work, they can now correctly accept jobs even when the language-service provider’s Terms and Conditions are disabled for the clients.

Relevant locations:
(1) Settings > Customization > Project and Work Processes > Terms and Conditions > Configure > Clients as suppliers > Disable
(2) Editor > Top menu > [Click the status] > Change status > ‘Yes, I can take on this job’

Client Management, Editor, Job Management, Translators - WM-9479

FIX [Reports] ‘Client services and prices’ report works again

You can generate the ‘Client services and prices’ report (number S504) without an error being displayed.

Reports, Project Managers - WM-8993

FIX [Custom fields] Mandatory custom check boxes now really are mandatory

When you add a custom check box to a form (for example, a price list), and you mark the check box as mandatory, users now must select the check box to be able to save the form.

Settings > General Settings > Custom fields > Configure

Custom Fields, Project Managers, Administrators - WM-6165

FIX [Editor] PowerPoint files are correctly finalized

Target-language PowerPoint files are correctly finalized even when the original files include custom elements such as links to online documents.

Editor > Document > Submit as Deliverable > Create File > Finalize

File Formats, Preview, Project Managers, Clients, Administrators - WM-9407

FIX [Editor] You cannot edit a comment to be blank

Editor, Project Managers, Administrators - WM-9502

FIX [Machine translation] Correct customized MT system selected in Microsoft (v2) MT

Customized MT systems for Chinese regional language variants are now selected correctly for the Microsoft (v2) machine translation system.

Location: Settings > Customization> Machine translation > Machine Translation systems > Configure > Microsoft (v2) > Select > Choose plan > Enabled > Machine Translation Training > Your systems

MT, Project Managers - WM-9995

FIX [Supported languages] Corrected language designations

For the Microsoft (v2) machine translation system, the language ‘[yue]’ has been corrected to ‘Cantonese (yue),’ and the language ‘[iu]’ has been corrected to ‘Inuktitut (iku).’

Settings > Customization> Machine translation > Machine Translation systems > Configure > Microsoft (v2) > Select > Enabled Languages

Also, whereas the list of Wordbee supported languages already included the options ‘Cantonese (Simplified, China)’ and ‘Cantonese (Simplified, Malaysia),’ it now also includes the option ‘Cantonese’ by itself, without a regional locale designator.

Settings > Customization > Translation Settings > Languages > Configure

Machine Translation, Project Managers - WM-9727

FIX [Jobs] Misleading arrows removed from supplier timelines

When you are choosing or changing suppliers to do a job, the four-week timeline that indicates a supplier’s open jobs included left and right arrows that seemed to indicate that you could display previous or later months. These misleading arrows have been removed.

Jobs > Select > Job details > Status and organization > Supplier > Choose or change supplier > [Expand a supplier] > Jobs

Supplier Management, Translators, Project Managers, Administrators - WM-8447

FIX [Editor] Locking editing of source columns

In the editor, at the top of source-language columns, the Edit switch now locks or unlocks editing only for the relevant column.
