Switching Between Editor Versions

The Editor comes in two versions, and you can move between them whenever you want. Switching is reversible, and your choice is remembered.

  • Switching between versions: where the switch is and what travels with you.

  • Keeping both versions open: how to keep your working view intact when you need both.

Switching between versions

The version switch sits next to your avatar in the top-right corner of the Editor. Click it to move to the other version, and click it again to come back. Your choice is remembered the next time you open the Editor.

Switching is personal to you: your choice does not affect colleagues working on the same account, and your account's default editor does not change.

What travels with you

Carry-over is not the same in both directions.

  • Editor v1 to Editor v2: your filters, your columns and the segment you had selected come with you.

  • Editor v2 to Editor v1: less is carried, so you may need to reapply your filters and column settings after you arrive.

A notice tells you what could not be carried. If you want to keep your working view intact, use the method below instead of switching.

Keeping both versions open

Because the return trip to Editor v1 does not restore your full working view, it is often easier to open both versions at once than to switch back and forth.

Follow these steps:

  1. Copy the Editor URL from your browser address bar before you switch.

  2. Open a new browser tab and paste the URL. The same document is now open twice.

  3. Switch versions in one tab only. The other tab keeps its filters, columns and position in the grid.

  4. After saving a change in one tab, click refresh in the quick toolbar of the other tab to pull in the latest data.

The refresh button sits next to Undo and Redo in Editor v2, and next to the Save button in Editor v1.
