You can add a term to a termbase, or a segment to a translation memory, without leaving your job. Add to TB/TM opens a small window over the grid, so you can keep selecting text while you fill it in.
Adding an Entry
Follow these steps to add an entry:
-
Open Add to TB/TM from the Edit menu, the + tool on the quick toolbar, or a keyboard shortcut.
-
Select the text you want to add, in the source or the target column. It appears in the matching field.
-
Fill in the other field by selecting the text in the grid or typing it.
-
Under Destination, select a termbase or memory.
-
Click Save.
The entry is saved in your job's source and target languages only, and inline tags are removed from the selected text. The Destination list shows only the project's termbases and memories that hold your job's languages and that you can add entries to. Your choice is remembered for next time.
A new term shows up straight away in the Term Finder on the current segment.
Add to TB/TM does not check whether the entry already exists in the destination.
When Add to TB/TM Is Unavailable
Add to TB/TM appears only if you are allowed to add entries to the project's termbases or memories. If it is grayed out, hover over it to see why:
