Term Finder Panel
The Term Finder panel helps you look up approved terminology from your term bases while translating or reviewing content in the Editor. As you move through segments in the grid, the panel retrieves matching terms automatically, displays their approval status and metadata, and lets you insert the right translation with a single click. This keeps your terminology consistent without interrupting your workflow.
Viewing Term Matches
Open the Term Finder panel from the Panels menu in the toolbar, or press Ctrl+Alt+T. The panel appears on the right side of the Editor and can be stacked alongside other panels such as the Memory Finder.
When you click on a segment in the grid or navigate between segments, the panel searches your term bases automatically and displays results as a list of term hits. Each hit shows the term in the current working languages (source and target), along with visual indicators for approval status, labels, and metadata.

Understanding the Results
Each term hit includes:
Element | Description |
|---|---|
Source term | The term in the source language, as matched from your segment text. |
Target term | The translation in the target language. If a detected term has no translation, it appears only in the source section. |
Status badges | Colored badges indicating term approval status (see Status Colors below). |
Warning icon | A triangle icon with an "Unreliable" tooltip appears next to any term with red status, in both source and target. |
Labels | Colored dots and text showing custom categorizations (visible when labels are enabled). |
TB badge | A link to the term base entry. Click to open the resource. |
Status Colors
Color | Meaning |
|---|---|
Green (Preferred, Admitted, Tailored) | Recommended for use. |
Red (Deprecated, Error) | Unreliable: should not be used. A warning icon appears next to these terms. |
Orange (Superseded) | Replaced by a newer term. |
Gray (Default) | Standard term without special status. |
Within the results, terms are sorted by approval status: confirmed terms appear first, followed by neutral, then red-status (error) terms.
Quick Display Toggles
The panel header includes buttons to control what information is visible in the results without opening Settings:

Searching Manually
By default, the Term Finder searches automatically based on the segment you select in the grid. To search for specific text instead, click the search field in the panel header. Type your query and press Enter or click the search icon.
Below the search bar, two radio buttons let you choose the search direction:
Source (default): Searches the source language.
Target: Searches the target language.
To return to automatic, grid-linked search, click a segment in the grid. The panel will resume updating results based on the selected segment.
Resource Selection
Click the Resources button (list icon) in the panel header to choose which term bases are included in your searches.
The dialog displays all available term bases (labeled TB) with checkboxes. Check or uncheck individual term bases to include or exclude them. The counter next to Selected shows how many are currently active.
By default, all term bases are enabled. If the setting Select which Termbases to search is disabled in Settings, the Resources dialog becomes inactive and term bases cannot be selected individually.
