When you open a translation memory in the Editor, you can create a new entry in place.
Adding an entry
Open a translation memory from Resources. Add segment is then available in three places: the Edit menu, a button on the quick toolbar, and a keyboard shortcut you assign yourself in Preferences > Shortcuts (no key is assigned by default).
Follow these steps to add a segment:

Open Add segment from the Edit menu, the quick toolbar, or your shortcut.

Choose the Source language. When the memory declares only one source language, it is already set and there is no list to pick from.

Write the Source text.

Fill in at least one translation. Save stays unavailable until the source language, the source text and one translation are all filled: spaces alone do not count.

Click Save.
The Translations area opens with the languages currently shown in your grid. Show more languages reveals the rest of the memory's languages, and is absent when the grid already shows them all. A language offered as the source is never also offered as a translation.
Both the source and the translation fields are multiline, so Enter starts a new line rather than saving.
Add segment appears when you open a translation memory from Resources. It is not offered inside a job or project, including for a memory attached to one. Which memories you can open at all depends on your resource access rights.
If a filter you have active would hide the new entry, a dialog opens instead of the confirmation message. Clear filters reveals and selects your new entry, and Close leaves your view as it was.
