Job Creation Wizard
The Job Creation Wizard lets you create translation jobs directly from the Editor, so you can assign segments to translators and reviewers without leaving your workspace. Select the content you need, choose your target languages, set deadlines and instructions, and launch jobs in a single guided workflow.
The wizard is available for Standard projects with Flex documents only.
Opening the Wizard
Open a Flex container in the Editor.
Optionally, apply filters to narrow down which segments will be available for job creation.
Click Jobs in the top navigation bar and select Create jobs from the dropdown menu.
The wizard opens to the content selection step.
The Jobs dropdown menu in the top navigation bar, with the "Create jobs" option highlighted.
Step 1: Select Content
The first step defines which segments will be included in the jobs and how large each job can be.
Segments and Filters
The wizard shows the total number of segments currently visible in the grid. If you applied filters before opening the wizard, only those filtered segments are available for job creation.
You can narrow the selection further with the Optional Filter dropdown:
Filter | Description |
|---|---|
Select an option | No additional filtering. Includes all currently visible segments. |
Not translated | Segments without translations in the target language. |
Not assigned | Segments not assigned to any open job. |
Pending approval | Segments awaiting approval or review. |
With QA issues | Segments flagged with quality assurance issues. |
The optional filter applies per language, so each target language may have a different segment count depending on its translation state.
Maximum Job Size
Set the maximum number of segments per job:
Default: 500 segments
Minimum: 1 segment
Maximum: 20,000 segments
If the available segments exceed this limit, the wizard creates one job up to the maximum and notifies you that more segments remain. You can then use the Create More Jobs option to assign the rest (see Job Creation Results).
Segments are selected by lowest String ID, which may differ from the display order in the grid. To preview the exact segments that will be included, add a Max Segments filter in the Filters panel before opening the wizard. This caps the grid to the number of segments you plan to assign, so you can review them before starting the process.

Click Continue to proceed to language selection.
Step 2: Select Languages
Choose which target languages to include in the job workflow.
The wizard displays a table of all project target languages with checkboxes. Each row shows the language name and the number of segments that match your content selection and optional filter. Languages with zero matching segments appear disabled and cannot be selected.
Follow these steps to select languages:
Check individual language checkboxes to select specific languages, or use the header checkbox to select all languages with available segments.
If your project has many languages, click Show More at the bottom to load the full list.
Review the segment count per language to understand the workload distribution.
The Continue button remains disabled until at least one language is selected.

Click Continue to proceed to job details.
Step 3: Job Details
Provide the workflow settings that will apply to all jobs created in this batch.
Review the Job Reference, which is generated automatically based on the project naming convention. This field cannot be edited.
Set the Deadline by clicking the calendar icon or entering a date directly (format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM). The system calculates individual job deadlines based on the project workflow and supplier configuration.
Add Instructions with translation guidelines or context for translators (up to 3,000 characters).
Add Comments with internal notes about the job (up to 2,000 characters).

Click Continue to review the summary.
Step 4: Review and Create
Review the full job creation summary before finalizing:
Total segments to assign: The combined segment count across all selected languages.
Total target languages: The number of languages included.
Workflow deadline: The configured due date.
Workflow instructions: Whether instructions were provided (expandable to view the full text).
If anything needs adjustment, click Go Back to return to a previous step. When everything looks correct, click Create Jobs to start the job creation process.

Job Creation Results
After clicking Create Jobs, the wizard displays the outcome.
A green confirmation banner confirms that jobs were created. The results show the total number of jobs created and a View Jobs link that opens the project’s jobs page in a new tab, where you can review, assign, and manage the newly created jobs.
If more segments were available than the maximum job size allows, an informational message appears explaining that some segments were not assigned due to the size limit. Click Create More Jobs to open a new wizard instance with the same settings and assign the remaining segments. You can repeat this process until all segments are covered.
When you are done, click Close to return to the grid, or click Filter assigned segments to apply a filter showing only the segments that were just assigned.

Example Scenarios
Use Case | How To |
|---|---|
Assign all untranslated content to translators | Open the wizard, set the optional filter to Not translated, select your target languages, set a deadline, and click Create Jobs. |
Create small review jobs for segments with QA issues | Set the optional filter to With QA issues and reduce the maximum size (e.g., 50–200 segments). Select the language requiring review and create jobs. |
Distribute a large volume across multiple jobs | Set the maximum size to your preferred batch size (e.g., 500). After the first batch is created, click Create More Jobs to assign the next batch, and repeat. |
Avoid assigning segments that already have an open job | Use the Not assigned optional filter. The wizard skips any segment that is already tagged with an open job in that language. |
Preview the exact segments before creating jobs | Before opening the wizard, add a Max Segments filter in the Filters panel with the number you plan to assign. The grid shows only those segments so you can review them first. |
Create jobs for a specific subset of filtered content | Apply your filters in the grid (labels, custom fields, text search, etc.) before opening the wizard. The wizard uses only the currently filtered segments as its starting point. |
